GAZA-ISRAEL CRISIS: CALL ON THE UK GOVERNMENT TO TAKE ACTION
The death toll is rapidly rising due to the conflict in Israel and Gaza. Over 30,000 have been killed, with nearly half of that number children.
Soon, deaths caused by hunger and poor sanitation will overtake those killed by bullets or bombs. Over 2 million people, the entire population of Gaza, are on the brink of famine. Less than half of Gaza’s hospitals are functioning.
We call for an immediate ceasefire to save lives and to allow more humanitarian aid into Gaza. The international community, including the UK, must hold all sides to account for breaches of international law and to ensure the safety and protection of civilians.
Will you add your name to our message to Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Foreign Secretary David Cameron?
We call for the Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Foreign Secretary David Cameron to urgently use the UK’s diplomatic powers to:
- call for an immediate ceasefire
- increase the daily flow of humanitarian aid coming to Gaza – including water, fuel, food and medicine – to restart vital infrastructure such as hospitals and water and sanitation services
- prioritise the protection of all civilians from military action, including the release of hostages
- ensure International Humanitarian law is upheld
- increase humanitarian funding to urgently meet people’s basic needs
- prevent the use of violence against civilians by Israeli settlers in Area C of the West Bank and end restrictions on the movement of Palestinian communities in the West Bank.
