Write to your MP

The UK’s aid budget is a force for good in the world. It shows us as a country that we can be proud of – compassionate, dedicated and determined to achieve a world free from poverty and hunger.

However, the government is proposing to cut UK Aid. This will be the largest cut to aid by any country, at any time. This is not who we are.

Will you write to your MP?

In the last five years, UK Aid has reached over 50 million people in the poorest places with nutrition services.

Cutting UK Aid halts that progress.

Dear MP,

I’m writing to ask you to oppose UK Aid cuts that put children’s lives in the poorest places at risk.

I understand times are tough for the UK, but I believe that we're big enough to support people here at home and around the world. This is what makes the UK the country that it is – dedicated, compassionate and generous.

All parties made a manifesto commitment to maintain aid at 0.7% of Gross National Income in the 2019 election. I believe the UK should not break that promise now.

Covid-19 could cause an additional 168,000 child deaths from malnutrition by 2022. This is reason enough to reverse the decision to cut aid. These children need us to fight for their futures.

The UK is the only G7 country to cut its aid budget in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic. This is not who we are.

Please publicly commit to support the 0.7% and raise my concerns with the Prime Minister.

As your constituent I’m asking you to stick to your promise and save aid.

Thank you.
